Master of Public Health Infection Prevention Fellowship

The Parkview Health MPH IP Fellowship is a paid, cooperative program for students who are seeking a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health and who desire to pursue a career in Infection Prevention (IP) after completion of their MPH program.

  • Clinical experience

    Clinical experience and usage of Epic’s Bugsy module.

  • One-year option

    A one-year fellowship option for IP Fellows who prefer to work full-time and be eligible for benefits.

  • Accelerate employment

    Training on Epic’s Bugsy module and clinical experience for the CIC exam to accelerate IP employment after completion of the IP Fellow’s MPH schooling.

Why apply?

1. Upon completion of the MPH schooling and the MPH IP Fellowship at Parkview, you will meet exam requirements to take the CIC.
2. You will receive hands-on, clinical IP experience that will boost job marketability and accelerate opportunities for employment.

You will learn hospital policies, outbreak and exposure investigations, Epic’s Bugsy module, public reporting, water management and litigation, infestations, environment of care, cleaning, sterilization, disinfection, asepsis, construction, infectious disease processes and oversight of transmission-based precautions, mock incident command/emergency management, data reporting/process improvement, and accreditation survey preparedness.

The MPH IP Fellowship will involve a 20-hour per week commitment during the full two-year paid employment at Parkview Health to ensure learning objectives and CIC exam requirements are met.

To have full access of Epic, the IP Fellow will need to be employed by Parkview Health.

Through this program fellows are able to gain the clinical knowledge required to be an effective infection preventionist.
