Efrain Alvarado is a Marketing & Communications Specialist with the Indiana University Indianapolis ECHO Center at the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. Prior to joining the IU Indianapolis ECHO Center in 2020, Efrain was a Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator with the Office of Student Services for the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. Efrain joined "Herd Strategies," a Public Relations Agency, in 2018 as an Account Coordinator.
Efrain graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish. He holds active memberships with the American Public Health Association and Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
Outside of his work, Efrain serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors for the Upsilon-Iota chapter of TKE Fraternity. He works part-time as a Lead Host for a restaurant in downtown Indianapolis called "Nada." He enjoys giving his time, talent, and treasure to charitable organizations like St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, and the Heroes Foundation.
His hobbies include staying up to date on current events, politics and pop culture. He refreshes his mind by reading a variety of books on his Kindle Fire, journaling, traveling, and running or biking around downtown. Efrain welcomes viewpoints from all sides because he believes we learn best by engaging in respectful, honest, open-minded conversations.
