Biography
Zeyana Hamid is a public health informaticist with interdisciplinary training in health informatics, public health, computing, and systems engineering. Her work specifically targets utilizing and sharing technologies and competencies to boost evidence-based practices at the public health level, community workers, and care givers.
Hamid’s research focuses on improving knowledge use through public health information systems for population well-being.
In Tanzania, she has piloted a statistical software that integrates clinical information, census, and socioeconomic surveys to enable users to generate hypotheses of health outcomes based on location and socioeconomic status (income, employment, and education).
Hamid consults and trains local NGOs to collaborate in a public health informatics ecosystem that supports sharing of resource information for mental health services provision, from clinical and behavioral to social care.
