Dr. Inderstrodt is an assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Fairbanks School of Public Health and research scientist in the Center for Biomedical Informatics at Regenstrief Institute. She is a health communication scholar and maternal-child health researcher. Her work uses informatics tools to give all mothers the pregnancy experience they want for themselves and their babies. Her research seeks to address communicative fissures within health care systems with a focus on (a) increasing preventive care following maternal morbidity and (b) eliminating disparities in breastfeeding. Prior to joining FSPH, she was a Medical Informatics Fellow with the Department of Veterans Affairs and taught communication at Ivy Tech for over a decade. Jill also served in the Peace Corps in South Africa (’03-’05) and Jamaica (’10).
