Biography
Leigh Anne Tang is a Postdoctoral Fellow funded by the T15 Training Program in Public and Population Health Informatics.
After receiving her undergraduate training in statistics at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Tang worked as a data scientist at Vanderbilt’s Center for Precision Medicine, where she collaborated with clinicians and researchers on phenotyping and genotyping studies. She received her MS/PhD in biomedical informatics from Vanderbilt University.
Her research has involved using predictive modeling to inform overdose prevention in the domains of clinical care and public health. She has worked closely with clinicians as well as the Tennessee Department of Health. She is interested in understanding how we might design, develop, and scale AI-based tools to tackle challenging problems in healthcare and public health.
