Position summary: Effectively and efficiently undertake a range of duties associated with program management and technology as requested by the DrPH program director. Support the mission and vision of Indiana University Indianapolis.
Main duties & responsibilities
- Attend, facilitate, and provide support for all online classes
- Coordinate and provide Zoom and Canvas training sessions for new/returning faculty, one on one or group
- Coordinate and provide onboarding session for new students
- Assist the program director with preparation of program materials such as course materials, student and faculty bios, class schedules, face to face meetings’ agendas, etc.
- Update and manage the program’s Canvas page
- Assist the faculty members with their classes as needed.
- Ensure that all materials are posted on Canvas on a timely basis
- Manage and resolve student and instructors’ problems or concerns
- Respond effectively to students’ and faculty members’ emails and requests such as problems, errors on Canvas, answering questions about registration, etc.
- Reserve classrooms and set up equipment upon request
- Create, update, and manage course folders on Canvas (This at the discretion of the instructor, but generally beyond the scope of the position.)
- Prepare materials for class and other requests from faculty members (This at the discretion of the instructor, but generally beyond the scope of the position.)
- Dedicate 10-20 hours per week
- Other duties as assigned
Essential skills and abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office, Excel, Canvas, Zoom, etc.
- Good working knowledge of computer processes (to assist with troubleshooting)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Experience instructing individuals and groups along
- Upholds a professional demeanor
- Mastery of the English language
- The ability to work independently and efficiently
