IUSM medical students who are interested in pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Public Health and/or the MPH degree have two options for degree completion.
Four-year MD-MPH

- Where did your interest in public health originate?
- How do you plan to integrate your medical and public health degrees after graduation?
Five-year MD-MPH
Students who are interested in the five-year program (which includes an enhancement year to complete the required MPH courses) or who become interested in obtaining an MPH degree after admission to IUSM must apply through the dual degree application supplement during the Fall semester of their third year of medical school.
Admission deadlines
- Application opens: September 1
- Application closes: November 1
Please note that IUSM 5-year program students will start their public health courses during an enhancement year that begins the summer term following their acceptance.
