Ann Alley is the Director of the Chronic Disease, Primary Care and Rural Health Division of the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) and for the past thirteen years has overseen state and federal programs that address diabetes, cardiovascular health, stroke, cancer, asthma, and behavioral health/primary care integration through a grantee network of 40 community health centers and 35 critical access hospitals that deliver care to rural and medically underserved Indiana residents.

Ann has served on a variety of statewide committees—most recently those studying/funding the chronic care model, mental health/primary care integration, health professional workforce development, mobile integrated health care, and supported housing with health services attached.

Brent Anderson, BA

Brent Anderson attended DePauw University, Greencastle Indiana, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in June 1984. He is currently a practice coach for the Indiana Department of Health facilitating Primary Care practice transformation and quality improvement by providing hands-on, on-site, technical assistance to State-funded Federally Qualified Health Centers, Community Health Centers, Rural Health Centers, hospitals, and various other community partners across the State. Prior to joining ISDH Brent worked as a State Director for a tutoring company implementing quality improvement with standardized testing. Brent also has many years of experience working with health care provider teams in the pharmaceutical and biotech arena.

DuyKhanh P. Ceppa, MD, FACS

DuyKhanh P. Ceppa

Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery | Indiana University School of Medicine

Dr. Ceppa is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill (BS in Biology) and Duke University (School of Medicine). Following General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery residencies at Duke University, she joined the faculty at IUSM. She is a general thoracic surgeon with a clinical focus on minimally invasive surgery and lung screening. 

Her research focus has been on patient outcomes and DEI in the discipline of CT Surgery.  Dr. Ceppa also serves as the Program Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgery residency, an Associate Vice Chair of Professional Development and Diversity for the Department of Surgery, the Medical Director of the IUH Lung Screening Program, and the Deputy Chief of Surgery at the Roudebush VA Medical Center. 

Shadia I Jalal, MD

Shadia I Jalal

Program Lead | Thoracic Oncology Program at Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center

Shadia Jalal MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Indiana University and the Lawrence H. Einhorn Scholar in Oncology. She serves as the program lead for the Thoracic Oncology Program at IUSCC. She is an expert in esophageal and lung cancers. She serves on multiple national committees and has led the Veterans Administration’s clinical pathway development for lung and esophageal cancers. She has designed and served as the principal investigator for a number of thoracic oncology clinical trials.

Mary Kelley, MS, RDN, CSO, LD

Mary Kelley

Clinical Dietitian Senior | Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health

Mary is a registered dietitian and a certified specialist in oncology nutrition. Her experience includes working with both pediatric and adult oncology patients at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, and most recently at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

Mirian Ramirez, MLIS

Mirian Ramirez

Librarian • Ruth Lilly Medical Library | Indiana University School of Medicine

Mirian joined the team at the Ruth Lilly Medical Library as a research metrics librarian, where she investigates and provides researcher support for analysis, use, and emerging applications of scholarly research impact metrics.

For over 10 years, she worked in library positions that involved business, economics, and social science information resources, including the Library of the Central Bank of Venezuela and the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administration (IESA) and at the Library of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in Santiago, Chile, where she was responsible for collection development and the library training program.

Mirian, a member of the Cancer ECHO team since 2020, provides database demonstrations and tutorials and shared specialized information with caregivers and health professionals.

Mary Robertson, MPH

Mary Robertson

Cancer Prevention & Screening Lead | IU Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center

Mary Robertson is a graduate of Purdue University and received her master’s degree in public health from the Fairbanks School of Public Health. Previously, Mary served as the executive director of the Indiana Cancer Consortium (ICC), Indiana’s statewide comprehensive cancer coalition. In this position, she convened diverse stakeholders to create meaningful change and reduce the cancer burden across the continuum of care.

Before transitioning into the Director role, Mary was the tobacco cessation and prevention manager with the ICC. Over the past seven years, Mary has worked and volunteered for several Indiana nonprofits and has a passion for improving the health of all Hoosiers.

Demarcus Sneed, MPH, CHES

Prior to coming to the ICC, Sneed worked as the program manager for the Office of Minority Health at the Indiana Department of Health, working with internal and external partners to accomplish the offices statewide minority health initiatives. Several years of experience in community health education and working with community coalitions from time at Purdue Extension as a health and human sciences educator.
