Empower your Practice with Project ECHO
We provide a dynamic range of free, virtual continuing education (CE) credits tailored for clinical and non-clinical health professionals attending live ECHO sessions. Each program is meticulously crafted to support the unique continuing education needs of interprofessional health professionals.
Our programs offer diverse continuing education credits (CEs), with a variety of profession-specific CEs available depending on the ECHO you join:
- Physicians: AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
- Pharmacists: ACPE contact hours
- Nurses: ANCC contact hours
- Social Workers: Category I CEUs as outlined by the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board
IU School of Medicine Division of Continuing Education in Healthcare Professions
No-cost continuing medical education credits are awarded to all members through the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) Division of Continuing Education in Healthcare Professions.
In support of improving patient care, IU School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in ECHO activities.
American Academy of Family Physicians
Credits are also awarded in collaboration with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
To report AAFP CME Credit, log in to your AAFP account at aafp.org. Click on CME > Report CME. Choose "Report CME by Category" for a course, conference, or series. Enter the specific activity information (date range, state: Indiana, provider: Indiana AFP). ECHO sessions will appear on the results page, and you can then report credit for the sessions you attended.
AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
Certified health education specialist credit is available for some of our live ECHO sessions. Sponsored by the IU Indianapolis ECHO Center at the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).
